Vauxhall celebrates 57% van market share in 2011
VAN manufacturer Vauxhall is celebrating after its plant at Luton produced 57 per cent of the total number of vans produced in the UK last year.

The Luton factory manufactures Vauxhall’s leading Vivaro range, backed by the company’s plant at Ellesmere Port which manufactures the Astravan.
Almost two-thirds of Vivaros manufactured at Luton were shipped to mainland Europe, said a Vauxhall spokesman.
Mark Stein, Vauxhall’s plant director at Luton, said: “Responsibility for the majority of the UK’s industry volume in van manufacturing is a huge achievement and I heartily congratulate our excellent workforce for their commitment and dedication.
"Building on Vauxhall’s over 100-year history, we are now looking forward to an exciting future with the next generation Vivaro going into production in less than two years.”
