Chamber elects new president
THE NEW president of Milton Keynes & North Bucks Chamber of Commerce has vowed to ensure that business has "a voice to influence change”.

Silvia Vitiello was speaking after her election by the Chamber board. She succeeds Robert Goodman, centre director at thecentre:mk, who has stood down after two years.
A partner with chartered accountants and business advisers. Silvia (pictured) is also a governor of Milton Keynes College and a trustee of local charity Milton Keynes (Safety Centre) Ltd. She has worked in Milton Keynes for more than 25 years.
Silvia said: “Milton Keynes is an exciting business community and it deserves a strong Chamber to represent it. Making sure our Chamber is fulfilling the needs of our member businesses and giving them a voice to influence change is a priority for everyone on the Board and the team as a whole.
“Just as for other businesses this will be a challenging time for our Chamber and I am looking forward to working with the board to meet those challenges. “
The Chamber has more than 1,400 members which employ a total of more than 75,000 people.
Chief executive Rita Spada said: ”It is a real benefit to the Chamber membership that someone with Silvia’s standing and prominence within the local business community has been appointed to this vitally important role
“My team and I look forward to working with Silvia over the coming years to secure Milton Keynes’ position as a forward-thinking, global business destination able to maximise the trading opportunities for the organisations within the Chamber region.”
